My family and I stayed at Hale Honu for 5 nights, Arriving on a Saturday and leaving on Thursday. Owners were very responsive and had reached out to us when we arrived to the Big Island. The house was a bit warm as we arrived, but we opened up the windows and got the fans going and the house cooled off quite a bit. We were aware of no AC available prior to our arrival. We do not have AC in our own house and so this was not an issue for us. Also, the evenings do cool off and there was a breeze in the evenings. Our son stayed in the Casita, which is the second bedroom, He stated that that room did feel a bit warmer than the rest of the house in the afternoon, but it also gets the direct sunlight in afternoon. The 3 of us spent our evenings on the lanai playing cards or in the pool, so again, heat of the afternoon was not an issue for us. The main house is very spacious and lots of counter space. Lots of light switches that were labeled for all the lights. We rarely used all the lights. The furniture was very comfortable to sit on. however, we spent most of our time sitting on the lanai in the evenings playing cards and ate most meals outside. The master bedroom is very spacious! We had read previous reviews regarding the master bathroom. yes- the toilet and shower are out in the open. We used the screen to block view, but it was not an issue for us. I, myself, am a bit of a free spirit, so I loved the shower in the master bed/bath area. There are 2 other full baths- one off the kitchen and living rom and the other in the casita. beds were comfortable to sleep in. My son stated that he could hear the ocean every night as he fell asleep. The sunsets were fantastic from the house. The house is very close to a beach known for it's snorkeling. We walked down there almost every morning. The house is also 4 min away from restaurants and a grocery store in Keauhou. Highly recommend the shaved ice place there. Overall, we loved our stay. The house fit our needs, was close to places we wanted to go to, and was on the quieter side of town. Ali'i Drive is busy during the day, but in the evenings - not a big deal. This house is more suited for adults with older teens/college age kids. Our only suggestions would be larger numbers on the wall to be seen from the street. We missed the house on our first drive by. WE are trying to figure out when we can come back to this house. And, if the casita had a small coffee maker. My son said he could have made coffee there and sit out on the other seating on his end of the lanai. We will definitely be back again! In Fact- trying to figure out when our schedules will work out to come back to this house!

This is the most beautiful place I have stayed in my life. My 4 kids (1 teen and 3 college kids)and my husband were so happy here! The view in the condo was more beautiful than the pics. You are staying right above the ocean and the sound of the waves is loud and perfect. The condo has everything and is so clean. The beach below has the best tide pools covered in so many types of fish and crabs!! We sat and looked at our natural aquarium every morning. The location of the condo is safe and just 6 mins from “downtown” and while it's cute down by all the restaurants and fancy hotels, I prefer the location of this condo. It's quiet except for the crashing waves. The lanai is so big and very private. I am from LA and I have stayed in nice places. This one takes the cake because it's hard to find somewhere as close to the ocean without spending over a thousand a night! When I return to Kona, I will only stay here!

The Hale Kona is in the best location in Kona being just above the main highway and about a 0.5 mi from Walmart and other local stores of all kinds. The location is far enough off all roads that not a sight nor sound is heard but close enough that you can walk if you are an ambitious walker. The community is gated and super quiet, the neighbors friendly and the home is fully appointed and stocked with all the basics such as sugar, flour, salt, pepper and all sorts of spices.

This penthouse is just what my husband and I needed for a quick getaway! The location is perfect, located next to restaurants, shops and the beautiful ocean. The condo was extremely clean, had all the amenities for us to borrow for beach/snorkeling adventures and provided a relaxing environment during our stay. We were sad to leave but will definitely be coming back again to enjoy this beautiful space.

Kona Bali kai 219 is amazing. Either sitting on the patio watching the surfers, the waves or the sun set, this truly ocean front condo gave us a complete get away. This units central location made getting to Kailua Kona a simple fun excursion. Definitely going back.

The condo was well appointed with everything required for a comfortable stay. It was very clean, the check in process was easy and the property manager was responsive and helpful. The location on Alii Drive was convenient and located close to Kona and points north and south.

This trip was our 3rd to this lovely place. The sunsets from the lanai are spectacular and the sound of the waves from the location right next to the water lulls us to sleep each evening. We were able to walk to town to enjoy the holiday parade and our favorite restaurants. The new furniture in the living room and patio are very nice too. We are looking forward to visit #4 soon!

my family and I were very pleased with this lovely spacious townhome with ocean views. The proximity of this home to the beaches such as Magic Sands, downtown Kona that has shops, bars, restaurants & beaches was so convenient and though we had transportation you could easily walk to the beach and stores. The community is fenced and has a beautiful pool and hot tub with blue lights at night. The neighborhood is peaceful and quite but easily assessable to all the excitement of Kona. The Property and unit were perfect for our family, and everyone was able to relax and be comfortable while having the comforts of home. I highly recommend a stay here with these kind folks. We are now planning to bring my siblings and grandmother on the next trip and will definitely look into accommodations here again for a stay. We miss it already!
